The Championship Game
For the second time in two years TPD has traversed the labyrinth that is the MFFL, through poor circumstance and turmoil, and has come out clean on the other side playing for it all in the 2017 MFFL Championship. There was once a dream that was a TPD championship, so fragile you could only whisper it, anything more than a whisper and it would vanish. That dream was realized one year ago, a magical moment not soon forgotten. But such unimaginable dreams parade the thoughts of TPD once more.
TPD's run to the final duel was orchestrated by last week's remarkable comeback win, after his opponent had a player go for over 40 points. The catalyst for the victory was TPD's player profile. Starting Goodwin under those circumstances is truly a power move, and it gives TPD confidence when constructing this week's lineup. After a week which saw Hopkins, Green, Rodgers, and McCaffrey all on TPD's bench, TPD gets his boys back for this one. There will be 5 different starters for the championship game. It is unbelievable roster maneuvering illustrating how audacious TPD can be with his roster after years of experience and clout building.
Tom Brady will get the nod, though many would suggest he shouldn't. His play over the last three weeks has been a hinderance to TPD rather than aidful. But TPD has endured and now Tom is back at home after playing 5 of his last 6 games on the road. TPD feels now is the perfect time to put faith in one of the all time greats, and Tom is well overdue for a blow up performance. Welcome back Green and Hopkins. They will slid into the starting lineup alongside Michael Thomas, who has been a shining star for this franchise down the stretch. The magnificent trio of WRs will put on a final performance for the ages. Losing Burkhead to injury hurts, but TPD will display two other capable backs on Sunday. Drake has been this season's best free agent pickup, while McCaffrey is on pace to shatter the RB record for catches in a rookie season. Kelce remains in the starting lineup despite some average performances of late, but just like other studs Brady and Green, it is time for him to blow up. TPD welcomes a new kicker and defense for the championship game. Bailey gets a match-up at home and an improved offense with the return of Zeke. Chicago gets a home spot against the Browns.
It is time for TPD's optimal roster to show the full force of it's powers. TPD's studs are ready for a surge after difficult match-ups a week ago. The result of such surges is a thought difficult to imagine. It will destroy and consume anything in its path...just like the NASTY from Dynasty. The NASTY did not care what circumstances were presented to it last week, it blasted hard and true and snatched an engulfing victory. It has been waiting to be unleashed with full power behind it all season and the time has finally come. Here and now, in the championship game, the NASTY will perform its final act, the prestige, and make such an end worthy of remembrance.
The hour strikes and the horns sound in the deep. Sailing with aid at it's back, TPD commonwealth stands at the gate. For what is dead may never die, but rises again harder and stronger. Rise on this day, a day of golden history, and take what is truly earned.
Player Profile: Tom Brady, Travis Kelce, A.J. Green
Now is the hour. Take up arms thy three fantasy studs of disaster. All have had their time in the sun, but shaded undertakings of late have clouded their prospects. TPD knows not heed the warnings of would be prophets, the sun will shine brightest for these three again. TPD calls upon them in his greatest hour of need and they will answer the call. A convergence of NASTY is set to beacon high into the sky, signaling the time has come, and TPD is golden once more. NASTY!
