TPD lost a heartbreaker a week ago, 144-142. Both Daniels and Nico got hurt mid game, and a poor lineup decision led to the loss. Once again, it is hard to fathom the horrible luck it takes week after week to keep this franchise down. TPD watches in horror as each bounce of the ball goes against him, in the flukiest ways possible. Such horrible circumstance would send lesser managers out of the game entirely. But TPD endures. The players give him hope, and he will not let his team down. TPD is by far the highest scoring team in the league, but only has a (4-3) record. Sound familiar? Here we go again, again.
The massive acquisition this week is James Cook III. More on him later. The rest of the lineup is a bit wounded entering week 8. Both Daniels and Nico will be out, and a few others are on bye. TPD also has to start multiple players on Thursday. That typically spells disaster for him. But every so often, when the wind directions of the season are unknown, a Thursday explosion from multiple player gives the ship its heading. It will happen again this Thursday. The season shifts now. This is not TPD at his optimal lineup, but so what. The boys will do their thing. Even if the record doesn't show it, this group is elite.
Always elite is the NASTY. What more can this beast do week to week. It fights til its last breath, often fighting through gashes and mashes, until every last drop of blood is spent. What it needs is nurturing and healing. And it will get it. We owe everything to its will.
Player Profile: James Cook III
James has been balling this year. After his new contract, he has solidified himself atop the Bills depth chart. Two bad games and coming off bye mean he is ready to explode. TPD had Cook last year, before trading him to acquire Gibbs. Now he is back, and ready to stand guard for the long haul. TPD needed an explosive player on an explosive offense, and he got one. TPD now has two stallions at RB, like he did before Hampton's injury. Look out. TPD is putting the finishing touches on this roster before the trade deadline. And the results will be NASTY. Go for broke Cook.
