The Winds of change bring about the days of summer and an approaching tide that is the immortalized MFFL. Riding the tide is an embattled dreamer, carrying behind him the perfect backdrop, an MFFL championship. TPD's vision that was 2016 is fulfilled; a glorious season brimmed with drama and intrigue.
It began as it has before, with TPD starting slow to begin a season. Following a massive 169 point effort in a Week 1 victory, he lost 3 straight games leading to a(1-3) record. Two straight victories brought his record to (.500), but it was followed by two more losses bringing his record to (3-5), just past the MFFL halfway point. It was a dark time, TPD fortunes were looking bleak. For during the rough start he was cursed with the same bad luck and unfathomable circumstance that had always held him back. But, in week 9, everything changed. In preparing for a must win week 9 game, TPD had the unfortunate circumstance of having two star players playing on Thursday night. Dating back many years in this league TPD has never performed well on Thursday nights, but in week 9 he had no choice and had to start his guys. When the night came the result was anything but expected, his players balled out, and their efforts helped in scoring 174 points in a week 9 victory. From that point forward TPD never looked back.He put up big point totals and won 7 of his remaining 8 games, including the playoffs, securing his first MFFL championship. During that 8 game span his opponents started slowing down and stopped scoring points against him. I suppose it was inevitable that TPD's luck would one day change, as it was foretold, but after so much heartbreak for so long the reverse in fortune was anything but expected. When all was over TPD had finally captured the ultimate prize, and once again left a littered trail of dominance and achievement in his wake. Efforts included: scoring the most points in the East for the 5th straight time, winning the East division for the 4th time in 5 seasons, leading the league in points for the 4th time in 5 seasons, and scoring 200 points in a game, only bested historically by his 236 point effort in 2014. They're all eye popping numbers, that somewhat go overlooked due to numbness surrounding such happenings. As simply as it can be stated, TPD did his thing.
For the first time since TPD created the MFFL, he enters an offseason without the pain and scars of the last season. He has officially exercised his demons. The result of which has brought about an even more ever-ready TPD. The theme of last season: What is dead may never die, but rises again harder and stronger, materialized; the battle cry forever validated and immortalized. It will now be the heartbeat of the dream that is TPD, enduring and solidified.
It is time to again capture the dream. Do not blink. Do not flinch. The road once traveled takes a new turn to a destination unknown. One thing is certain, TPD will embark on that journey, ever growing and changing, sights set on the horizon of the cold dark forbidding sky. What is dead may never die.
